I’ll be spending the rest of the week blogging from the Fort Lauderdale lanai of my ex and his partner, who live in a golf course condo complex just west of Wilton Manors.  Usually I stay with Father Tony over on the beach, but he’s busy with the papal conclave.  The weather is gorgeous, so suck it, snowquester.

Hurricane Sandy did a number on Fort Lauderdale Beach, which seems about half as wide as when I last saw it. I don’t recall that lifeguard stand being so close the water.

I’m at Father Tony’s in Fort Lauderdale for the start of my usual holiday visit to Florida. It was about 30 degrees at LGA early this morning. Here, it’s 82 and muggy. Perfect.

When the sea turtles hatchings burst out their eggs, they are often distracted by car and street lights and lured onto A1A. Fort Lauderdale’s airport is mobbed this afternoon and they are holding passengers out in a satellite rope maze before you can enter the regular mobbed rope maze. (Blurry photo from my shitty cell cam.)

Father Tony and I are about to embark on a trip across the gorgeous Overseas Highway on our way to gay gay gay Key West, where you can expect a week of slightly drunken poolside blogging from the lovely Island House. Our fourth visit in about 18 months!
