CALIFORNIA: Hate Groups Now Pushing FIVE Anti-Gay Ballot Measures

Equality California last night sent out the above alert. It’s apparent that hate groups have decided to simply overwhelm the good guys with a high number of attacks. It would likely cost tens of millions of dollars to defend against all five measures. We’ll have to see if the other side has the financial backing to push them through.

CALIFORNIA: Hate Group Launches Two Campaigns To Thwart Gay History Bill

Unswayed by their failure to gather enough signatures to place a repeal of SB 48 on the November 2012 ballot (despite illegal tactics), a Christianist hate group has launched two new campaigns to thwart the plan to educate school kids about influential LGBT figures from history. The first new plan, which I told you about earlier this month, attempts to …

Another Attempt To Repeal SB48

How is this new effort different from the one that just failed? UPDATE: I’m told the last petition campaign was for an outright repeal of the bill in its entirety. This new attempt would strip the words “gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender” and “sexual orientation” from the bill’s wording, which would have the same net effect.
