Lucy Schwarz – Help Me! Help Me!

I don’t usually go for this style, but I got hooked on Lucy after hearing one of her songs during an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Give it a spin and see what you think. Cute video, she shot it in her own home with self-made props. She’s only 20! Free MP3 download here.

Fagottron’s UPular Remix

YouTube whiz kid Fagottron, whose hypnotic spliced up Disney remixes I’ve posted here several times, has apparently gone into business with Disney itself, as his take on Pixar’s UPular is being promoted on the Pixar YouTube channel. Pixar refers to the artist as Pogo, which is apparently his stage name in his native Australia. It’s great to see a company …

Skynet Symphonic

This is a bit of a departure from YouTube genius Fagottron, whose gorgeous takes on Mary Poppins and Willy Wonka many of you liked last year. Comprising nothing but small sounds recorded from the James Cameron masterpiece ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’, ‘Skynet Symphonic’ is my tribute to one of the greatest action features of all time! Each section is composed …

Apparently I am a semi-finalist in a contest I didn’t know existed. Air America Media is running a promotion asking you to vote for your favorite progressive blogger. The winner gets a week-long cruise to the Mexican Riviera with Air America hosts, including our heroine, Rachel Maddow. I’m way down at #11 in the semi-finals voting, which ends tomorrow. But …

Ukraine’s Got Talent

John Aravosis at AmericaBlog tips us to this strangely hypnotic demonstration of sand painting by a contestant on Ukraine’s Got Talent. There seems to be a lot of Soviet references, some of which I don’t get, but it really gets cool after the first minute.
