President Donald Trump resolved to withdraw his nomination of former Fox News contributor Janette Nesheiwat to serve as his surgeon general on Wednesday after far-right activist Laura Loomer called for just that in a series of social media attacks earlier this week.
The president purged much of his national security team last month after Loomer — who has hawked 9/11 conspiracy theories, celebrated the drowning deaths of migrants in the Mediterranean Sea, and called herself a white nationalist — showed up in the Oval Office and called for heads to roll.
