Bob Good Suggests “Fires” Cost Him Primary Win

Lynchburg’s ABC affiliate reports:

Virginia Congressman Bob Good (5th-Distrcit) claimed on X that there were three fires at polling locations on primary day, causing evacuations. Good tweeted that the three fires were at precincts in Albermarle County, Hanover County, and Lynchburg.

The Lynchburg Registrar said an alarm was triggered by cleaning equipment.The Hanover County Registrar said they believe their fire alarm went off because of steam from a water heater. Lastly, Albermarle County said a fire alarm at the precinct was triggered by a ceiling tile hitting the fire alarm and setting it off.

All three locations said that the alarms did not affect access to voting or voter turnout. The primary, in which Good trails by under 400 votes, is expected to go to a recount. Trump has attacked Good relentlessly for having endorsed DeSantis last year.
