Kamala Harris Decides Against Running For CA Gov

The New York Times reports:

Former Vice President Kamala Harris will not run for California governor next year, she announced Wednesday, forgoing another campaign after losing last year’s presidential election. “For now, my leadership — and public service — will not be in elected office,” Ms. Harris said in a statement.

“I look forward to getting back out and listening to the American people, helping elect Democrats across the nation who will fight fearlessly, and sharing more details in the months ahead about my own plans,” she added.

Ms. Harris, a former U.S. senator and attorney general of California, had been exploring a run for the state’s top office since she returned home to Los Angeles in January.
