The Washington Post reports:
President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened a forceful response against even nonviolent actions by demonstrators and vowed to “have troops everywhere” in response to the demonstrations in Los Angeles. “We are not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden and his autopen,” Trump said, speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One in New Jersey.
Trump said he was not yet at the point of invoking the Insurrection Act, but said he was watching the situation closely. He said he’d make that decision based on his own instincts. “The bar is what I think it is,” he said. “If we see danger to our country and to our citizens, we will be very, very strong in terms of law and order.” He referenced reports of demonstrators spitting at police officers. “Nobody is going to spit on our military,” he said. “That happens, they get hit very hard.”
