The Naples Police Department has issued additional rules aimed at protestors ahead of Pride Fest. Police reported that those who chose to attend the event at Cambier Park on June 7 are allowed to protest on private property without blocking traffic or disrupting order. Protestors must also have the private property owner’s permission to protest there.
Naples Police sent a notice on Wednesday, issuing their safety plans ahead of Pride Fest. The notice stated that police would be present to maintain peace, prevent crime and protect the rights of all attendees.
They are also prohibited from using amplified sound or engaging in violence and vandalism. However, some oppose the outdoor event, arguing it is not suitable for children, and certain groups are planning peaceful protests.
