Newsmax Host: Renaming Of Milk Ship Is “Fantastic”

“Alright, so it’s Pride Month. Anybody know who this guy is? He’s a big icon in the gay community. Harvey Milk — I have heard of him, largely because there was a movie called Harvey Milk that starred James Franco as Harvey Milk. [Franco played Milk’s boyfriend.]

“He was a gay rights activist in San Francisco. He was eventually murdered. I don’t know that much about the guy. I do know this, I just looked it up — he was in the Navy for four years in the 50s, and he left as a JG — lieutenant JG, not exactly an admiral.

“So what did they do? They named the damn ship for him. The USS Harvey Milk. Can you imagine being the commander of the Harvey Milk? I mean, some guys get to command an aircraft carrier, the Enterprise, the Coral Sea. I’m the skipper of the Harvey Milk. It’s not a very impressive vessel. Let’s face it.

“Anyway, why is it in the news? Because the secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, just announced they’re changing the name. Just in time for Pride Month. Pete, I’m sorry I ever doubted you, man. This is fantastic. And look, Harvey never considered that a ship would be named after him.

“Even he would have said this went way too far. Jaimee Michell joins us once again. Founder, Gays Against Groomers. They do such great work. Gays Against Groomers dot com.

“Now look Jaimee, we’re going to get to some of the problems that girls are facing in school. You’ve heard of Harvey Milk right?” – Newsmax host Greg Kelly. After some praise for Milk, Michell launches into the standard far-right claims that Milk was a “groomer.”
