Courthouse News reports:
A former Dominion Voting Systems director asked eight Colorado jurors on Friday to find MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell guilty of defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and civil conspiracy for spreading debunked claims that put him at the center of 2020 election fraud narratives.
“Dr. Coomer was a good man, in a good job, with a good life, and now we lost someone who was critical in elections,” said attorney Charlie Cain, who represents Eric Coomer. “The verdict I would ask for is the one that sends the message that they have to stop talking about him.”
The rumor that Coomer personally rigged the 2020 election did not start with Lindell, but according to Coomer’s 2022 civil lawsuit, the entrepreneur and his website Frank Speech were “among the most prolific vectors of baseless conspiracy theories claiming election fraud in the 2020 election.”
