Republican Rep Slept Though “Big Beautiful Bill” Vote

“We actually had 217 votes this morning. Andrew Garbarino [photo] did not make it in time. He fell asleep in the back. No kidding. I know, I’m gonna just strangle him. But then — but he’s my dear friend. And then David Schweiger was gonna vote and slipped his card in right at the last minute. So it looks like a razor-thin margin. That’s how they would have voted if he had gotten the card in on time.” –  House Speaker Mike Johnson, after Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” passed 215-214 with two GOP “no” votes in marathon 22-hour session. Garbarino first appeared here in 2021 when a man was charged with threatening to kill him for voting for Biden’s infrastructure bill.
