Florida Megadonor “Trash Kingpin” Gets USPS Gig

Newsweek reports:

President Donald Trump has announced he is nominating Anthony Lomangino to the USPS board of trustees. The USPS Board of Governors is the governing body of the USPS, and comprises of 11 members. It is responsible for setting rates, appointing the postmaster general and deputy postmaster general, and overseeing the Postal Service’s operations. They are appointed by the president and must be confirmed by the Senate.

Lomangino has been “involved” in multiple recycling and waste management companies in Florida, including Southern Waste Systems and LGL Recycling, according to a report by E&E News by Politico. In 2024, Southern Waste Systems donated nearly $8.9 million to Right for America, the super political action committee Lomangino co-founded to push for Trump’s reelection.
