The 36-year-old actor is starring in the audacious new X-rated film Pillion, which didn’t just premiere but exploded onto the festival scene Sunday night, earning an astounding eight-minute standing ovation and critical acclaim for its bold exploration of a BDSM relationship.

Pillion marks a significant departure for Melling, casting him in a role worlds away from the wizarding world’s surly cousin.
