MTG Posts Son’s Venmo Link: “Buy My Baby Boy Beer”

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a personal message on her Twitter account asking her followers to send her son Derek beer money for his birthday. Greene linked to her son’s Venmo account and wrote: “It’s my baby boy’s birthday!! He’s 22!! I love him so much! ❤️ Buy him a beer!”

The tweet was deleted shortly after going live. Some users criticized Greene‘s tweet for its apparent solicitation of funds and perceived ethical concerns.

Critics questioned the appropriateness of a sitting member of Congress encouraging followers to send money to a family member, especially on a public platform with a wide audience.
