DC Drops Civil Suit Against Proud Boys, Oath Keepers

Washington DC’s CBS affiliate reports:

The D.C. Attorney General’s Office (OAG) moved to dismiss a years-old civil case Friday against members of the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and other individuals involved in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol – saying the city was unlikely to ever recover enough even from a successful verdict to justify expending more resources.

The lawsuit, filed in December 2021 by former D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine, sought millions of dollars in damages from the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and individual members of the groups for “conspiring to terrorize the District by planning, promoting, and participating in the violent January 6, 021, attack on the United States Capitol.”
