The New York Post reports:
Flocks of twisted young women packed a Manhattan court Friday for a chance to see alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione — with some donning the same maroon color he wore when he was arraigned on murder charges in the disturbing case.
Dozens of depraved devotees braved the freezing temperatures in line to get access to the court in Lower Manhattan — several hours before the 26-year-old alleged killer was slated to appear Friday afternoon.
Roughly 75 members of the public — mostly women — also crowded the hallway outside where Mangione’s case was due to be heard. And at least one sported a bright green Super Mario Bros “Luigi” hat.
CNN reports:
The prosecution and defense are expected to give updates on the status of the case Friday. Judge Gregory Carro could set pretrial paperwork deadlines and might set a trial date. Signs of sympathy and support for Mangione dotted the scene outside the courtroom Friday morning.
In the hours ahead of the hearing, dozens of people lined up for the chance to observe the proceedings, and supporters waved signs that read “Free Luigi” and “Healthcare is a Human Right.” Posters of the CEOs of other major health care corporations appeared nearby the court, with the word “WANTED” emblazoned above a picture of each executive.
Inside the courthouse, would-be attendees – many of them young women – packed the hallway, some sporting “Free Luigi” apparel.
