Michigan Rep Intros Resolution To Overturn Obergefell

Detroit’s CBS affiliate reports:

Michigan state Rep. Josh Schriver, R-Oxford, says he plans to introduce a resolution urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, which protects same-sex marriages.

According to a news release from Schriver’s office, the resolution has 12 co-sponsors, and similar resolutions have been introduced in other states, including Idaho, Iowa, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.

In December 2024, Shriver posted on social media, saying “Make gay marriage illegal again.” In a second post, the GOP lawmaker said, “America only ‘accepted’ gay marriage after it was thrusted into her by a perverted Supreme Court ruling. America 2124 doesn’t have to be as dysfunctional as America 2024.”

Schriver first appeared here in February 2024 when Michigan House leaders stripped him of his committee assignments, staff, and perks after he reposted a white supremacist “Great Replacement” meme first posted by extremist Jack Posobiec, who was invited on last week’s Europe trip by Pete Hegseth.

As Right Wing Watch has noted, Schriver is an apparent follower of neo-Nazi leader Nick Fuentes.

The upraised finger seen in the screenshot below is considered a white nationalist salute by “groyper” followers of Fuentes. Shriver is fond of saying that he’s a servant of God, not government.
