Months after the slaying of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO, suspect Luigi Mangione has garnered over $300,000 for his legal defense via donations on GiveSendGo. His lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, confirmed that Mangione would be using the funds for his defense and that he “very much appreciates the outpouring of support.”
The fund has a goal of $500,000, with more than 10,000 supporters having already contributed.
The December 4 Legal Committee—whose name contains the date CEO Brian Thompson was killed—said it would continue to raise funds throughout an expected trial. The committee also prompted donors to send Mangione mail as he awaits trial in a Brooklyn jail. “
