On Truth Social, Trump posted a video of a man from Greenland asking him to purchase the Danish colony. As it turns out, the man, Timmy Zeeb, is a convicted drug dealer according to DR News. In Trump’s video post, Zeeb also seemed to call Americans “too fat” which Trump may have missed due to Zeeb’s accent. Zeeb reaction seems to confirm the comment. Zeeb voiced support for selling the island to the United States, citing the unfair exploitation of Greenland’s natural resources by Denmark.
DR News reports:
Timmy Zeeb, who on Trump’s profile has been made the face of Greenlanders’ desire to become part of the United States, has a long list of convictions behind him. Most striking is a verdict from 2019, where Timmy Zeeb was sentenced to four years in prison in one of Greenland’s largest cannabis cases. Back in 2009, Greenlandic police described how Timmy Zeeb was known for crimes that were dangerous to people. This happened in connection with Timmy Zeeb’s escape from prison.
