Washington DC’s CBS affiliate reports:
A former Texas prosecutor will serve a year in prison for ordering members of the Oath Keepers militia to destroy evidence about their involvement in the Capitol riot after Jan. 6, 2021.
Kellye SoRelle, 45, of Granbury, pleaded guilty in August to one felony count of obstruction of justice and one misdemeanor for entering the restricted area on Capitol grounds. She appeared Friday for sentencing before U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta, who has overseen all of the Oath Keepers cases related to Jan. 6.
In one message, SoRelle told Oath Keepers to delete any information about “the DC op and your involvement.” In another post on Signal, SoRelle wrote, in all caps, “YOU ALL NEED TO DELETE ANY OF YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT WHO DID WHAT… DELETE your self-incriminating comments or those that can incriminate others.”

NEW: Kellye SoRelle, the former general counsel for the Oath Keepers militia, sentenced to a year behind bars.
Judge Mehta said she helped amplify Stewart Rhodes’ increasingly violent rhetoric: “There are people sitting in jail today because of that.” https://t.co/4t1JPZYb9P
