Raw Story reports:
CNN’s Breanna Keilar wouldn’t let up when freshman Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) touted Donald Trump’s new age of “Manifest Destiny” but failed to directly answer questions about how it would help the U.S. economy.
Gill pivoted to the southern border, before stating, “I think that the people of Panama, I think that the people of Greenland, I think that the people of Canada, for that matter, should be honored that President Trump wants to bring these territories under the American fold.”
“Okay, they don’t seem honored, just to be clear,” Keilar said, adding,”Do you support Americans fighting, which always means potentially dying, for the U.S. to acquire Greenland or the Panama Canal?” Gill shot back, “All of a sudden you’re concerned about people dying in wars whenever a weak foreign policy under President Joe Biden is the reason that that the entire world has erupted in chaos.”
Some background about Brandon Gill:
Gill comes to Congress as a former Wall Street employee turned clickbait mogul, transformed in no small part by his relationship to longtime conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza. Gill married D’Souza’s daughter, Danielle, in 2017.
That year, Gill launched a hyperpartisan blog called DC Enquirer under a company that lists Gill, D’Souza and D’Souza’s daughter as stakeholders. DC Enquirer quickly caught fire on Facebook, beating The Washington Post’s account in engagement.
Gill said Trump once sent a thank you after an article praising his golf handicap. Gill also helped to market his father-in-law’s film “2000 Mules,” a widely disputed compilation of conspiracy theories alleging massive voter fraud in 2020 elections.
Gill also produced D’Souza’s recent “Police State” film. His wife is a Women For Trump board member and hosts a show for the far-right Chinese cult-funded Epoch Times.
In January 2024, failed US Senate candidate Mark McCloskey and his wife brandished assault weapons in their endorsement of Gill.
Gill appeared here last month when he praised the acquittal of subway vigilante Daniel Penny, says that the US needs more people like Penny.
Rep. Brandon Gill: “Listen, I think that the people of Panama, I think that the people of Greenland, I think that the people of Canada for that matter should be honored that President Trump wants to bring these territories under the American fold.”
