GOP Rep: “On This Day In 2021 Thousands Of Peaceful Grandmothers Took A Self-Guided Tour Of The Capitol”

“On #ThisDayInHistory in 2021, thousands of peaceful grandmothers gathered in Washington, D.C., to take a self-guided, albeit unauthorized, tour of the U.S. Capitol building. Earlier that day, President Trump held a rally, where supporters walked to the Capitol to peacefully protest the certification of the 2020 election. During this time, some individuals entered the Capitol, took photos, and explored the building before leaving.

“Since then, hundreds of peaceful protestors have been hunted down, arrested, held in solitary confinement, and treated unjustly. Countless hours and taxpayer dollars have been spent pursuing innocent grandmothers and raiding President Trump’s home, while terrorists and millions of illegal immigrants continue to cross our nation’s borders, causing havoc in our communities.

“Thankfully, President Trump has announced that, on day one of his presidency, he will grant pardons to nonviolent defendants.” – GOP Rep. Mike Collins, posting to X.

Collins last appeared here when he responded to a fatal mass school shooting in his home district by telling Fox News that the answer was “more Jesus” in public schools.

In 2022, Collins launched his first House campaign with an ad in which he fired a shotgun at a garbage can labeled “voting machine.”

Collins, who has called for dropping migrants from helicopters and for charging Biden with “inciting” assassination attempts against Trump, appeared here in June 2024 when he celebrated the assassinations of Democratic President John F. Kennedy and his brother, then-US Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.

Also last year, Collins posted a tweet celebrating the racist harassment of a black female student by Ole Miss fraternity brothers who had taunted the woman with monkey sounds.
