SC Mayor Drops Anti-Gay Slur In Bizarre Exchange

Florence, South Carolina’s CBS affiliate reports:

Darlington Mayor Curtis Boyd used an anti-gay slur during the public comment portion of Tuesday’s city council meeting. During public comments, a man tells Boyd he should not be the mayor of Darlington because he does not live within city limits.

Boyd responds to the man, saying he could come home with him and sleep “butt naked” in his bed. “You’re welcome to leave with me tonight, and if you want, you can sleep in my bed butt naked with me,” Boyd tells the man. “You’re welcome to sleep in the bed with me.”

“I’m not gay. I’m not a fa-,” the man said. “I’m not a homosexual.” Boyd replied, “I’m not a fa-, either. But you’re more than welcome to come see where I stay.”
