Elon Musk bankrolled a mysterious campaign group that sought to convince voters in the final days of the presidential election that Donald Trump would refuse to sign a national ban on abortion, according to Federal Election Commission filings released late Thursday. It was the sole disclosed donor.

Ginsburg was a long-standing supporter of the right to abortion, but her granddaughter, Clara Spera, previously criticized the group, saying in a statement that RBG PAC “has no connection to the Ginsburg family and is an affront to my late grandmother’s legacy.” On YouTube and Facebook, accounts with the same name as the super PAC posted short ads that feature women saying that Trump has promised he will not sign into law a national abortion ban if elected.
