The Providence Journal reports:
A bomb threat aimed at U.S. Rep. Seth Magaziner’s Providence home turned out to be just a scare, his office announced late on Friday.
“I was recently notified of a bomb threat targeting me and my family at our home,” Magaziner said in a statement. “We are safe and there was no evidence of a bomb on the property. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Providence Police Department for their effective response.”
Magaziner, who represents Rhode Island’s second congressional district, owns a home in Cranston but has been living in Providence while it undergoes renovations. He and his wife have two young children.
