NBC News reports:
Former Massachusetts Air National Guard member Jack Teixeira has been sentenced to 15 years for stealing classified information from the Pentagon and sharing it online, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts announced.
Teixeira appeared before Judge Indira Talwani in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts on Tuesday to receive the sentence.
In March, the national guardsman pleaded guilty to six counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information under the Espionage Act. He was arrested by the FBI in North Dighton, Massachusetts, in April 2023 and has been in federal custody since mid-May.
From a 2023 Washington Post report:
Previously unpublished videos and chat logs reviewed by The Washington Post, as well as interviews with several of Teixeira’s close friends, suggest that he was readying for what he imagined would be a violent struggle against a legion of perceived adversaries — including Blacks, political liberals, Jews, gay and transgender people — who would make life intolerable for the kind of person Teixeira professed to be: an Orthodox Christian.
The cult is calling him a hero. Teixeira agreed to today’s sentence in his March 2024 plea agreement.

Please keep Jack Teixeira in your prayers. They are throwing the book at him, seeking 17 years. He later faces a separate court martial for an “obstruction” charge. The kid is a whistleblower and a hero. pic.twitter.com/jecVsHKvUK
