Hegseth Has Called For “Scrapping The UN” Entirely

In an undated Fox News clip discovered by MeidasTouch, Trump’s Department of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth was openly hostile toward the United Nations. Hegseth called for scrapping the UN, labeling it a body that no longer serves U.S. interests:

“Instead, we are funding the UN. We’re funding the WHO way more than China is, and what more are we getting for it. I mean, I’ve long been an advocate for scrapping the UN altogether. It doesn’t serve our interest today, and we could form our own organization of like-minded republics. I don’t know why we give into these people.”

Hegseth’s extreme position could severely undermine America’s standing on the global stage. The United Nations is a cornerstone of international diplomacy and conflict resolution with efforts spanning peacekeeping, humanitarian aid, and addressing global crises.
