“Northwest Florida deserves another fighter in Congress. After three deployments to Afghanistan, I know what it takes to fight for America and our Christian values. Serving as Congressman Gaetz’s Director of Military Affairs was an honor. I’ll help President Trump finish the wall, get our Veterans the care and resources they deserve, and put an end to the deep state in Washington so that this nation is affordable again.” – Nathan Nelson, former staffer to ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz.
Nelson was paralyzed from the chest down in a rocket attack during his deployment to Afghanistan.
Nelson resigned from Gaetz’s team in 2021 shortly after being questioned by FBI to see if he had knowledge of Gaetz’s alleged trysts with an underage female.
In his resignation press conference, Nelson said, “This baseless claim against me leaves me further convinced that the allegations against Congressman Gaetz are likewise fabricated and merely an attempt to discredit a very vocal conservative.”
