WH Warns Of Imminent Missile Strike On Israel By Iran

The Washington Post reports:

Iran is preparing an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel, a White House official said Tuesday. The United States is “actively supporting” Israel’s “defensive preparations,” the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter.

“A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran.” The warning of a strike came after an Israeli security official said Israeli troops crossed into southern Lebanon to “remove threats and to deal with Hezbollah strongholds.”

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity under the ground rules of a briefing, said Israeli troops are carrying out “limited and localized targeted raids” within walking distance of the border.
