A Russian state media host and his guest pundits laughed at Americans who they said would fall for Vladimir Putin’s “trolling” endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris over Donald Trump on Thursday. “This is trolling of the highest level,” Vladimir Soloviev said. “And Americans will believe all of it is real.”
“Our ‘favorite,’ if you can call it that, was the current president, Mr. Biden. But he was removed from the race, and he recommended all his supporters to support Ms. Harris,” Putin said. “Well, we will do so – we will support her. She laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that she is doing well.”
Many influential figures on the right appeared quick to share Putin’s comments and to take his apparent endorsement of Harris at face value – including Trump.
