Josh Stein: “Robinson Could Not Exist Without Trump”

North Carolina Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Stein said that Mark Robinson, the state’s Republican gubernatorial candidate, could not exist without Trump. “Look, Robinson exists because Donald Trump has lifted him up throughout,” Stein, the state’s current attorney general, said on Sunday in an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union. “Mark Robinson could not exist without the support of Donald Trump.”

Stein also added Republicans who supported Robinson need to be “held accountable” — especially as some now attempt to distance themselves. “Candidates up and down the ballot in North Carolina need to be held accountable for supporting Mark Robinson and being part of his entire campaign,” Stein said. “They have been supporting him, and now it looks like folks want to run away from them.“
