New York City’s NBC affiliate reports:
Former U.S. Rep. George Santos is due in court Monday afternoon, where two sources familiar with the matter tell News 4 he is expected to plead guilty to multiple counts in the fraud indictment against him.
A hearing for the planned guilty plea has been scheduled for 3 p.m. in federal court, the sources said.
The case has been set to go to trial early next month. The Monday afternoon court date on Long Island was scheduled only on Friday at the request of both prosecutors and Santos’ lawyers. A letter making the request did not specify what it would be about.
