ABC News reports:
Former President Donald Trump at his rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, continued to focus on attacking Vice President Kamala Harris on the economy, President Joe Biden dropping out and personal attacks on her appearance.
“Don’t ever call a woman beautiful, because that’ll be the end of your political career, please.” Trump began, later going on to say, “But I say that I am much better looking. I’m a better-looking person than Kamala.”
“They said, ‘No, her biggest advantage is that she’s a beautiful woman.’ I’m going, huh? I never thought of that. I’m better looking than she is.”
The Washington Post reports:
In other recent remarks, Trump suggested Harris’s appearance would undermine her with world leaders, saying they would view her as a “play toy” and declining to specify why.
Trump has a long history of insulting the appearance of women rivals and critics, including 2016 Republican candidate Carly Fiorina and the adult film actress who accused him of a sexual encounter, Stormy Daniels. A New York jury convicted Trump in May of covering up hush money payments to Daniels.
Trump repeatedly described Harris as a “lunatic” and mocked her laugh. “As soon as she laughs, the election’s over,” he said.
The Daily Beast reports:
The reason for turning the presidential race into a beauty contest was her appearance on the cover of Time magazine, something which has obsessed the Republican candidate since it happened earlier this week.
This time he suggested both that Time had unsuccessfully tried to photograph Harris, and that the magazine had no pictures to use of her. “Time magazine doesn’t have a picture of her,” he said.
“They have this unbelievable artist drawing her. And I said, ‘Is that Sophia Loren? Who might that be? Is that Elizabeth Taylor? Oh, they must be celebrating the great life and times of the magnificently beautiful Sophia Loren.’
Trump is already far behind among women voters.
