Reports of a shooting or an active shooter situation at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Thursday night are not true, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said there was a fight, followed by a “popping” noise, possibly a balloon exploding, which reportedly caused mass panic and people to start running.
Glenn Brady and his family were visiting from Kansas when the panic over a possible active shooter erupted. Brady, briefly separated from one of his daughters, said security instructed everyone to take cover. He described the scene as chaotic, with many people crying and anxious.
