Governor Cox is poised to publicly endorse Donald Trump after the attempt on the former president’s life, followed by his speech at the Republican National Convention. It’s a stunning switch for Cox, who said he would not vote for Trump – and never has.
“Your life was spared,” Cox wrote to Trump. “Now because of that miracle, you have the opportunity to do something that no other person on earth can do right now: unify and save our country.”
Cox quoted Jesus Christ in the two-page letter and said he was impressed by Trump’s actions and words after the shooting.
