Alabama Youth Pastor Arrested On Child Rape Charges

Columbus’s CBS affiliate reports:

On Tuesday, 39-year-old Terry Murphree of Oneonta was booked into the Blount County Jail on the following charges: first-degree rape, sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, nine counts of Clergy-sexual intercourse with a child, electronic solicitation, human trafficking, traveling to meet a child to perform a sexual act, three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree attempted sodomy.

Muphree, court documents filed Wednesday allege, abused his position as a youth minister to repeatedly assault the girl inside of “a church, in the defendant’s home, and in the child’s home.” Murphree also allegedly contacted the girl via text and Snapchat in order to request nude photographs and videos, threatening to “kill himself and his wife” if she did not send them, according to the complaint.
