The Washington Post reports:
A Senate committee released new whistleblower allegations against Boeing on Tuesday just hours before the aircraft manufacturer’s chief executive, David Calhoun, was scheduled to testify before the panel to respond to myriad investigations into quality oversight and production failures.
The new whistleblower, Sam Mohawk, told Senate investigators in May that he witnessed “systematic disregard” for documentation of nonconforming parts at Boeing’s Renton, Wash., aircraft manufacturing plant, according to a staff memorandum prepared for members of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
Mohawk alleges that in June 2023, Boeing, alerted to an imminent inspection by the Federal Aviation Administration, moved parts that were being stored outside the plant “to intentionally hide improperly stored parts from the FAA,” according to the report.
