RNC Co-Chair Hosts Far-Right Extremist On Her Podcast

Media Matters reports:

Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee, invited neo-Nazi collaborator and conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec onto her podcast to push election denial.

Posobiec is a prolific far-right troll with a history of promoting Russian intelligence operations, working with far-right figures and groups including neo-Nazis, and pushing disinformation — including the Pizzagate and Seth Rich conspiracy theories.

“How are you feeling about the upcoming election? Anything you’re looking out for or anything that maybe makes you think, I don’t know, maybe put a little tinfoil hat on?” Trump asked Posobiec. Soon after Trump’s comment, Posobeic insinuated that election fraud had occurred in Philadelphia.

The Southern Poverty Law Center reports

Since Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Posobiec has emerged as arguably the most active spreader of disinformation among all internet performers in the far-right social media ecosystem. He pushed the #Pizzagate lie in 2016, suggesting that Democratic politicians frequented a nonexistent pedophile dungeon below a Washington, D.C., pizzeria.

He also promoted the “Rape Melania” disinformation campaign in 2016, associating liberals with sexual violence. According to Buzzfeed reporting, Posobiec held up the sign bearing those words. He then used Twitter to lead people to believe that anti-Trump protesters had waved it.

Posobiec has worked with a global network of extreme far-right and pro-authoritarian figures in his activism. He printed his second book through a publishing house where white supremacist Theodore Beale, known by the pen name Vox Day, serves as lead editor. In May 2017, Posobiec and the neo-Nazi Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer amplified the Russian military intelligence-backed “#MacronLeaks” operation.

Posobiec served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 2012 to 2018, according to records the Navy provided to SPLC. The Navy revoked Posobiec’s security clearance in 2017. The military-focused publication Task and Purpose wrote about the incident, quoting a source who claimed that the Navy yanked Posobiec’s security clearance after he shared confidential information to Twitter.

Posobiec recently appeared here when he vowed to end democracy in a comment at CPAC 2024. Last year he led an anti-LGBTQ protest outside Dodger Stadium where he read from Catholic liturgy in Latin. He is also believed to run the anti-LGBTQ “End Wokeness” X account regularly promoted by Elon Musk and LibsOfTikTok.
