The Daily Beast reports:
A speaker at Donald Trump’s rally in the Bronx Thursday cited his Hispanic heritage while apologizing to the indicted Republican presidential candidate for the behavior of the judge in his criminal trial, Juan Merchan—who also happens to be Hispanic.
At one point during his remarks, Trump welcomed to the stage former New York City Councilman Rubén Díaz, who on paper is a member of the Democratic Party but opposes abortion and same-sex marriage, among a number of other unorthodox positions.
“I am here for a variety of reasons, but I want to tell you first, that as a Puerto Rican, as a Hispanic, I want to apologize to you for the conduct of Judge Juan Merchan,” Díaz said. “As a Hispanic, I want to apologize. He has been used to destroy you, but we know better than that.”

As longtime JMG readers will surely recall, before becoming a NYC councilman, Diaz, who is also a pastor, was a New York state senator where he fought viciously against LGBTQ rights and same-sex marriage.
In 2011, Diaz and hate group leader Brian Brown held an anti-gay march through the Bronx, which was attended by thousands of Hispanic evangelicals.
At the end of the march, a rally pastor declared from the stage on the Bronx County Courthouse steps that gays are “worthy of death.”
I was there and filmed the march. NOM then stole my video in its entirety and posted it without attribution to their YouTube account. Activist Jeremy Hooper captured the “worthy of death” rant and his video is below.
