Atlanta First News reports:
A former Atlanta Police officer accused of murdering a Lyft driver claimed he was hearing voices and thought he was being kidnapped during the ride before the shooting, according to Union City police. Police said Koby Minor is accused of shooting and killing Reginald Folks, 35, Wednesday after Folks dropped Minor off at his home.
According to police, Minor told officers Folks was driving him home from another Atlanta police officer’s home, when Minor began hearing an “unknown voice” in his ear. Minor told police he believed Folks was in a “gay fraternity” and that Minor believed he was being kidnapped to be recruited into it.
Read the full article. Minor, who was also arrested last year on drug charges, told police that he fired three shots into the back of the driver’s head because he wouldn’t let him out of the car. Friends of the Lyft driver say he was not gay.
