Politico reports:
Michael Cohen testified today that he enjoyed working for Donald Trump. He also testified that he sometimes lied and bullied in order to achieve what Trump wanted. Asked if he sometimes lied for Trump, Cohen said, “I did. It was what was needed to accomplish the task.”
“Did you bully people?” prosecutor Susan Hoffinger asked. “Yes, ma’am,” Cohen said. “Again, in order to accomplish the task. The only thing that was on my mind was to accomplish the task, to make him happy,” Cohen testified.
Cohen said that he lied out of loyalty to the former president and to align with his political messaging. “He has a goal, an obsession with getting Trump, and you’re going to hear that,” defense lawyer Todd Blanche said in his opening remarks, per ABC News.
