The Washington Post reports:
President Biden said Wednesday that he would halt the shipment of U.S. offensive weapons to Israel, which he acknowledged have been used to kill civilians in Gaza, if the country moves ahead with a long-planned ground invasion of Rafah — the first time he has threatened to withhold U.S. military aid, and the most direct threat he has made in the seven-month war. Biden made the comments during an interview with CNN airing Wednesday evening.
“Civilians have been killed in Gaza as a consequence of those bombs and other ways in which they go after population centers,” Biden said in the interview, referring to 2,000-pound bombs supplied by the U.S. “I made it clear that if they go into Rafah — they haven’t gone in Rafah yet — if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities — that deal with that problem.”

We stand by allies, we don’t second guess them. Biden’s dithering on Israel weapons is bad policy and a terrible message to Israel, our allies, and the world.

Despicable decision made b/c the politicos around @JoeBiden tell him he has to fear his extremist wing. Rafah is so small —25 sq miles. There are between 10,000 and 20,000 Hamas terrorists there, the Hamas leadership and the hostages. https://t.co/kYbRtDzBfx

Important step in the right direction by President Biden to halt the shipment of bombs to Israel.
Netanyahu must stop bombing Gaza and stop the invasion of Rafah. The U.S. needs to keep pushing for a ceasefire, the return of hostages, and more life-saving aid. https://t.co/VQChyq6UJK
