“Don’t mess with Texas,” the state’s Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick ominously warned Sunday in a message directed at President Joe Biden in a clash over border control.
“We believe constitutionally we are right. We have a right to defend our citizens. We have a right to defend this country,” Patrick said on Sunday Morning Futures when Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked him about the risk of civil war, pointing out that “both sides” have guns.
Patrick said Texas is within its rights “to defend” itself against federal law enforcement because migrant border crossings amount to an “invasion.”
