The Messenger reports:
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., were among 177 GOP members of Congress to sign their names to an amicus brief in support of Donald Trump ahead of a critical Supreme Court case.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, House Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky., and other Trump allies signed themselves to the amicus brief, which is one of more than two dozen filed ahead of the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in an elections case next month.
The case involves the Colorado Supreme Court booting Trump from their state ballot under a 14th Amendment clause that bars anyone who participated in an insurrection or rebellion from holding office.
