The Messenger reports:
An eight-person jury in Washington, D.C., was selected Monday for the civil trial of Rudy Giuliani, the iconic former New York mayor and personal attorney for Donald Trump who is on the hook for damages after a judge previously ruled he’s responsible for defaming two 2020 Georgia election workers.
At the trial, expected to last up to two weeks, the D.C. jury is only expected to decide the amount of damages Giuliani may be ordered to pay Fulton County election workers Wandrea “Shaye” Moss and her mother, Ruby Freeman. Those damages could reportedly total more than $40 million.
Giuliani is also facing state felony charges in Georgia in connection with his post-election activities. He has pleaded not guilty in the case, which is expected at trial to include witness testimony from Freeman.
