Broke Michigan GOP Plots To Oust Its QAnon Chair

Michigan Republican Party chair Kristina Karamo could be in trouble. There’s a growing likelihood Karamo could be removed as chair of the party less than a year into her tenure after a majority of the party’s state committee skipped a Saturday meeting she convened to attend one organized by a group of discontented party leaders.

With only a minority of the state committee present for the chair’s virtual meeting – a planned protest had prompted their in-person venue to cancel – Karamo’s meeting couldn’t achieve the quorum required to conduct business.

“This is the first time ever she’s not in the majority,” Warren Carpenter, an Oakland County Republican, said in an interview with MLive. “We’re going to be able to vacate her at our next meeting,” Carpenter said. “She’s gone.”
