Former President Donald Trump’s lead attorney on Tuesday asked the New York judge presiding over his client’s civil fraud trial to throw out the lawsuit based on testimony by a high-ranking Deutsche Bank executive.
“This witness has again testified that the bank conducted its own due diligence,” said Trump’s lead attorney Christopher Kise, who also represents the former president in his classified documents case in Florida.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron appeared highly skeptical of the motion, seeking what’s known as a directed verdict resolving the case in Trump’s favor.
