The New York Daily News reports:
Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, will most likely live after being stabbed by a fellow inmate, an official said Saturday. “We have heard that he is expected to survive,” said Brian Evans, a spokesman for the Minnesota attorney general’s office.
Details were scant on what led up to the stabbing, which occurred at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona, the medium-security prison where Chauvin is being held after losing his appeal before the U.S. Supreme Court last week. The facility suffers from staffing shortages and security lapses.
