The Detroit News reports:
A Michigan judge ruled Tuesday that former President Donald Trump’s name can appear on primary ballots, saying it would be inappropriate to intervene and deem Trump ineligible.
Michigan Court of Claims Judge James Robert Redford ultimately declined on Tuesday to bar Trump from getting a spot on the Feb. 27 primary ballot and refused to order Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to make her own choice on whether Trump was eligible.
Redford, an appointee of Republican former Gov. Rick Snyder, had acknowledged there will likely be appeals of his decisions and his rulings wouldn’t be the final ones as higher courts would have to weigh in.
