GOP Rep Rages Over Museum’s “Satanic” Xmas Tree

“I think it’s impossible to overstate how offensive it is to Christians. It would be quite, in the literal sense, the same thing as waving the Hamas flag inside of a synagogue. I mean, it’s absolutely crazy that we would allow this to happen. What’s happening is we’re just trying to defend basic traditions, or defend our children in the midst of these basic traditions, from the encroachment of woke ideology or offensive, upside down cultural propaganda. And so, the whole thing is a shame. I thought that Northeast Wisconsin was at least immune to something that you might see in New York or California, but we need to be vigilant as parents.” – GOP Rep. Mike Gallagher raging to Fox host and former GOP Rep. Sean Duffy.

The Green Bay Press Gazette reports:

The Satanic Temple of Wisconsin is one of 66 organizations participating in the Festival of Trees event at the National Railroad Museum said CEO Jacqueline Frank. The group’s tree, festooned with red lights and adorned with pentacle baubles and upside-down crosses, was one of 60 with no explicit Christian overtones.

“We have six Christian-related groups that have trees up this year, but it’s mostly businesses and nonprofit organizations,” Frank said. “We have everything from a tree with hardware on it, a tea tree, we have a Lego tree. It’s a lot of different organizations promoting their business.”

Each organization that participates sponsors a tree that costs anywhere from $75 to $150 and they can decorate it however they see fit, so long as it isn’t promoting violence, sexual content, and alcohol and drugs.

Gallagher, like most of you here, is surely aware that the Satanic Temple is a satiric atheist group that disavows the existence of Satan and all other superstition-based beings. But facts don’t sell on Fox News. Watch the clip.
